In WP you could have both the icon and the name of the
toolbar button on the toolbar...can you do so in Word?
For example, the print button would also have the word
Print under it. I know that if you hover over the icon,
you'll get the tooltip, but can you put the word there as
well?

Yes, you can. First open the Tools > Customize dialog. Then right-click the
button in the toolbar. Near the bottom of the popup menu, there are four
choices:

Default Style
Text Only (Always)
Text Only (In Menus)
Image and Text

Click the "Image and Text" item and close the Customize dialog. The next
time you close Word, if you're prompted to save the global template
normal.dot, say yes.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!
