tool bar problems

i got a tool bar that changes everytime i restart my
computer and the search companion opens up each time i
restart. My tool bar is locked each time but it still
changes upon a restart of my computer. I have reinstalled
windows and it is still doing it. I customize my tool bar
and when i restart my computer the tool bar changes back
to what i dont want and also the search companion opens up
on its on.....help please.

Check your start up on your program menu to see if the
search companion is in there, if so right click and
delete the short cut if not check all the preference
settings to make sure its not set to start up when
windows starts. Also make sure you apply all changes on
the tool bar. If none of this helps ???????????????
 
wow......thanks cheech......that did it.
i went to msconfig and looked in my startup stuff and
there it was, starting up on load......thanks....very much
