I have 2 questions 1. I down loaded these back grounds
and animations for when you send emails. When I did it
installed a tool bar with advertisements how can I get
rid of this tool bar.
2.I got a new dell computer that came loaded with inernet
explorer and ever time I click an a web page a
advertisment web page pops up. Can I disable this.

Don,

1. This sounds like malware to me. There are numerous toolbar spyware
programs. Get help from SWI Forums - you'll run Spybot S&D and
HijackThis. Start with this article which has all the instructions
you need:

2. You need a popup blocker for IE. There are dozens, everybody here
has their own favorites. I have heard folks who like CoffeeCup, which
is available from Tucows - it's shareware - but $20 isn't a bad price
IMHO (lookout - here comes one looong URL):

I use Google Toolbar (of course, there's another toolbar, but it seems
benign). <http://toolbar.google.com/>

Cheers,

Chuck
I hate spam - PLEASE get rid of the spam before emailing me!
Paranoia comes from experience - and is not necessarily a bad thing.

Greetings --

To deal with pop-ups caused by any sort of "adware" and/or
"spyware,"such as Gator, Comet Cursors, Xupiter, Bonzai Buddy, or
KaZaA, and their remnants, that you've deliberately (but without
understanding the consequences) installed, two products that are
quite effective (at finding and removing this type of scumware) are
Ad-Aware from www.lavasoft.de and SpyBot Search & Destroy from
http://security.kolla.de/. Both have free versions. It's even
possible to use SpyBot Search & Destroy to "immunize" your system
against most future intrusions. I use both and generally perform
manual scans every week or so to clean out cookies, etc.
