too many Temp Internet files being saved

New user of XP Pro and it wants to save huge amounts of
data.
access 4 sites and it has already accumulated a few megs
of files

any suggestions on what settings I can change to minimize
this?

open internet options and on the general tab click on

Easy: Open IE and go to Tools > Internet Options > General tab. Click the
Settings button and get ready to say "whoa!..."
