Too many questions

I have so many questions! :)

1. I am unable to change any Internet Options due to
restrictions on the tool bar. Anyone know how I can get
rid of this? Over ride it?

2. Here is a silly question- I am sure that everyone will
have the answer. How can I keep Explorer
from "remembering" past phrases, past searches, etc. The
moment I type a letter in a search box, I am reminded of
things written a long time ago.

Help!

Thanks in advance!

1.
Use Regedit.exe and search for NoBrowserOptions and remove it.
It is most likely to be here (but not necessarily)
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet
Explorer\Restrictions
If you are unfamiliar with Regedit, then ensure you know how to
restore your Registry in case of error and it is a good to export any
key before deleting.

Check the startup (Start-Run-MSCONFIG-Startup tab) for any unknown
items if it is reset on reboot.

You might try this snippet from Mike Burgess first if you use SpyBot:
'Did you by chance run SpyBot's Immunize feature?
If so, you can unlock by unchecking the option to "Protect IE Control
Panel" '

2.
Have you tried IE-Tools-Internet Options-Content-AutoComplete?

Thanks Alan! I was able to fix this one! My question
which you answered on another board is another story.
Still can't figure that one out... hmmm, perhaps I am a
bit technologically challenged.

How am I to get rid of past searches, etc.? You know the
ones that show up as you are typing in a search box?

Try this:

Start | Settings | Taskbar & Start Menu | Advanced [tab], then click on the
Clear button.

Which OS is this meant for? (Not XP.)

The path that Alan gave is common to all OS and wouldn't need
that qualification. A refinement to Alan's suggestion would be to
close all IE windows and ensure that iexplore.exe was not running
any longer in Task Manager's list of Processes, then use

control inetcpl.cpl

and its Content tab, AutoComplete Settings dialog, etc.
Otherwise some things may persist due to IE maintaining them
in an internal representation and later writing them back to the external
registry locations, after which the user thinks that IE didn't clear them
properly at all.

Actually, it is different in WinXP. Using the Classic Start menu, the
sequence goes: Start | Settings | Taskbar & Start Menu | Start Menu tab |
Customize button, then click on the Clear button. Using the XP-style
Start menu, it's: Right-click on Start, Start Menu tab | Customize button
| Advanced tab, then click on the Clear List button (maybe). I haven't
used XP enough to be sure that this does the same thing.
