Many thanks! It seems easly when you know how to do it. I added a profile in Outlook, moved the mail as you said, and then went into Control Panel - Mail and delected the first profile....and along with it, the duplicate.
Peter
Try creating a new profile. You can do this through the Mail icon in Control Panels.

TO SUMMARIZE
For whatever reason, my personal folder file seems to have doubled itself. I can't get rid of both parts even if I move the email setting.
I have tried replacing outlook.pst with a blank which doesn't work either.
I assume it is some sort of corrupted registry setting.
Thoughts before I remove and reinstall Outlook?
Peter
Again, sorry. I can move the default email to another PST. But I can't close both of the old ones. It says: object cannot be found on one of them.
peter
Ah, ok. I wasn't understanding your problem. I thought you had mulitple PSTs.
You can create a new one through the Data Files area. Then you can go into the Accounts area and change your delivery location to the newly created PST file.

There is only one pst and I can view it. It has two complete sets of folders in it.
If I could set up another one with mail, then I could delete this one and start again.
p
I'm not sure what the problem is then. You should have one PST that is the one your mail is delivered to. Is that PST ok and is it the one you want mail delivered to?
Can you view all of the PST files in the Data Files area of the Control Panel Mail icon?

Again, can't seem to change the default mail server either.
Any more thoughts. Otherwise, I'll try the meat-ax approach tomorrow including, if necessary, reinstalling Outlook (I've already saved the data).
Peter
Ah, ok. First, make sure that the personal folders file you're trying to close isn't the one your mail is delivered to. Then you can go to the Mail icon in Control Panels and go to Data Files. You can manage your Personal Folders files there.

Sorry, but Close Personal Folder is a greyed out (not offered) option.
Peter
Right click the unneeded ones and choose Close.

Is there a way to get rid of a whole set of Personal Folders. I have, unfortunatly, created several and I only need one.
Thank you.
