I recently bought a used computer with Windows 2000 OS,
but when I crank it up, it looks like the former owner
downloaded both windows xp and windows xp professional,
because it gives me a choice when I open it up. I bought
it with OS already on it and I don't have a copy of
Windows 2000, so I am afraid to do anything, but this
computer only holds 9gigs, so I don't want to waste any
space that the other two may be taking up. Is there a way
to delete those OS's without compromising my Windows 2000?

thx

By the way when I try to load using one of other OS, I get
an error message, so I want to stick with 2000

Basically, you need to edit the file C:\boot.ini, remove the entries that
you don't want, and then remove the systemroot for those operating systems.

To access boot.ini, open a command prompt and change directory to C:\, then
type "attrib -r -h -s boot.ini". The file should now be visible.

Next, delete the files on the partitions where the other installs are
located.

Best regards

Bjorn
