Dan Shappell

I have a windows XP machine with this configuration

HP Pavilion
1.7 GHz P4
512 MB RAM
CD-RW Drive
40 GB Drive

I am using another computer to setup my audio library and
have been using an external USB HD to backup and move
music between the two machines.

I have a folder C:\My Music that I am putting things into
and after I did my last update of files from drive to
drive. The number of music files on the HP went up
substantially from 2500 to 5000. Now when I open up the
C:\My Music folder it sits there and sits there and I
can't look at all of my music files and I can't even get
the Task Manager to come up.

Am I displaying to many columns?

Any help would be great
Thanks,
DAN

Hey DAN

My suggestion is to put some of your music files into
another folder that way it will only look at a certain
ammount of files at a time.

Now, in order to see all the files so you can transfer
some you may have to go into safe mode. To go into safe
mode, you will have to restart your machine and press F8
a clouple of times until it come us, but dont go button
bashing cause it will stall your pc and put a lock on
your keyboard so press like once every second or so. Then
you should be able to see your files because your
computer is only running the nessecary componants in
order to keep it running... Good luck
