One of our customers has a peer2peer network with 2 win98 clients & 2
win2000 clients. The win98 clients work fine but the Win2k clients keep
getting an error message when accessing data files on the acting server -
the message mentions "too many files open".

Any ideas what to do anyone?

Cheers

Good morning

Is your program a DOS based program? If so, in Win98 you
have increased the FILES= value in the c:\config.sys. In
W2K, you would adjust the FILES= in the CONFIG.NT (found
in the winnt\system32 folder). The default in W2K is 40.

Hope this helps

And it should probably look more like: FILES=250

Sorry guys, I didn't explain properly. The programs exhibiting this error
are windows progs like Pegasus Capital Gold (accounts) & MS Word 2000 etc.
There are no DOS programs working here.
