Too many DHCP images

We have been updating our RIS servers with new images of
Windows 2003 Server, Windows 2000 SP4 & Windows XP SP1.
In the process we have left our existing images intact.
It appears that once we publish more than 32 RIS images,
either of the following happens; No images are listed
during the CIW, OR the error 00004e53 - The message from
(RIS server) was too long and could not be displayed.

Our RIS servers are Windows 2000 SP3. We have not been
able to find any reference regarding this in any of the
MS Knowledge Bases, nor are there any references to this
in the SP4 list of fixes (or new features of 2003 Server).

Has anyone seen this before? Thanks in advance.

The file that the RIS server sends to the clients is too big (the memory
that PXE uses is limited). The solution that I found was to make the
images descriptions shorter.

We tested this scenario & found that the total text, both
the image description & the Help Text combined, causes
this issue to appear. Our testing resulted in anywhere
from 32 to 36 images to be available depending on the
text size in the .sif's. I'm sure reducing the current
text will enable us to display more images.

Thanks for the insight, looks like we have some image
renaming to do.
