Too many Archive folders

Overlooking my Manager's shoulder I noticed she had about 12 Archive Folders
in her Folder List.
How did this happen? I thought when you archive a folder it would append to
the Archive.pst. It does when I do it on my PC. I would like to correct her
Outlook when I know the answer.
I overheard someone else say they would move them all back to her inbox then
put them to a folder in Windows. I also thought an Archive was a copy not a
move - therefore bringing them back to the Inbox would create duplicates.

Please fill me in - thank you
Deborah

if they are imported back then you have the option of how to treat
duplicates. You don't need to do that. Just open al the archives and use
drag and drop to move or copy them to a single file and then close the
archives and delete the redundant pst files. Make sure your archive settings
are then pointing to the single archive.

I appreciate the answer. However, can you tell me how she
got so many in the first place - I would hate to have her
do a File | Archive again at a later date and have them
continually make new Archive folders - are they not
supposed to append.
Thank you
