toner transfusion?

I've just put my HPIII to rest, and replaced it with a HP4.

The toner cart of the III was pretty new. Is it possible to transfer
the toner from this to the HP4 cart once that's empty?

This isnt something I'd make a habit of, but just one time.
 
No. The toner for each printer is a different
formulation and are not the least bit compatible
with one another.

Thanks -- my parsimony wouldn't let me just throw away an almost full
cart. I'll give it away to someone then.
