Checked a couple of prices at tonerrefillkits.com - trying to
understand why the 150g refill for the HP 1200 costs $24.95, while the
90g refill for the Samsung ML1710 costs $32.95. Their response is
that these are different toners. Any idea what the actual differences
might be?

Thanks!

*Particle size
*Fuser Melting Point
*Material Content
*Triboelectric charge value
*Polarity
....to name a few

Each formulation of toner is a unique mixture
which can have unpredicatble results when used
with the wrong printer. You can damage the cartridge,
the fuser assembly, or output rollers using the wrong toner.

Yes, theoretically....the big factors
are the amount of waste toner produced and Toner
density. The waste toner requirements (waste toner
is a combination of lefterover from the imaging process
and a smattering of lubricating toner) are dictated
by the engine design. Toner density is controlled
by both the engine design and the firmware/software.

: Thanks John. So it's possible that the page output could be the same,
: even though one is 90g and the other is 150g?

To add here that static toners (which they don't contain magnetic component)
have double yield, Samsung uses static toner, HP magenetic.
