Readers' choices?
Is it just about money?
What if those who voted were actually not wise? :)

Top of the page - you'll see a search window
Then type in what you want - or simply do this

http://www.tomshardware.com/search.php?s=readers+choice+awards#

I've six or seven scripts showing there that my browser has blocked,
so you'll have to do the final clicking.

Good luck on the mission.

Thanks! Yes, I tried searching/googling but
wasn't able to find anything recent,
which is why I ended up posting.

Did they stop the Readers' Choice Awards about 5 years ago?

That's true with all voting systems.
But, I recall that most winners of THG's RCA were pretty good.
At least, I used it as an aid. It was helpful to me.

I agree that it's still a major reference site.

Tom's Hardware changed hands in 2007 or so.

And I stopped reading the site, after this article came out.

"Strip Out The Fans, Add 8 Gallons of Cooking Oil " January 9, 2006

Thanks! That explains things. I didn't know since
I only reference the site when the need arises. :-)

Hmmm ... cooking oil?

There are fluids which might work better. Some have dielectric
strengths which are high enough, that high voltage circuitry
can still work.

Many regular oils and fats, become rancid with time.

Even this effort, was a bit smarter. They used mineral oil,
but noted the mineral oil was becoming cloudy after a year
of usage.

Uhm, I think I prefer my huge noisy personal Honeywell fan over oil. :-)
