Hi Zena,
I don't mind answering questions, time permitting. I've had the last 2 weeks off work,
due to the holiday shutdown that occurs each year at The Boeing Company. It's back to my
regular schedule pretty soon, so I won't have as much time available to participate in the
newsgroups.
You indicated previously that you have a wedding planning business. I guessing that you
might be located in the Philadelphia area, given a previous question about updating 756
records to PA. Given that you are looking up a fairly steep learning curve for Access,
and you are on a serious time crunch, I strongly advise finding a qualified database
developer in your local area and working with them. There are many highly qualified
database consultants who read this newsgroup as well--if you don't mind working "long
distance", by e-mail and/or phone, then you can probably do that as well.
I think you also indicated wanting to have the ability to send e-mail to a list in the
thousands. This is all very do-able within Access. You might want to look into
purchasing a tool such as Total Access E-mail
(
http://www.fmsinc.com/products/Emailer/index.asp) from FMS to accomplish this goal. This
product is designed to work seamlessly with an Access database, but it is not necessarily
targeted at new users of Access. This would be much better than attempting to import
thousands of e-mail addresses into either Outlook or Outlook Express. Another possibility
is Worldcast (
http://www.fairlogic.com/worldcast/), which would run $49 for a business
license. I have not used this product myself, but I can put you in touch with a person
who has used it and gave a demonstration of it to our local Access group.

I feel like you've been my personal access tutor. THANK YOU So much for
all of your answers-they are actually written for a baby computer user
to understand. I did order the book and i will look at the sites. My
situation is this...I am on a serious time crunch to get my entire
company up and running-access comprehension seriously needed. If you
don't mind answering these questions...fabulous. (i'll still read the
information).
