is there a way to say, put in the formula =today() in excel and then have it
not change for next day if you open the excel sheet? how would one do that?

Use CTRL-; (press and hold CTRL key, press ; key, release) instead

Hi

No, sorry. A cell contains either a formula OR a static value. But if you press Ctrl ;
(that's Ctrl semicolon) then the static date is entered. Or you could use a macro that
enters a date when something memorable happens.
