Don't be silly. MS will find a way to charge you for patches by
releasing Second Editions and Third Editions of its products. Do you
remember Windows 98, and Windows 98 SE? Apparently, the second edition
was more stable!!
They could well release Windows XP with SP3 as Second Edition if the
sales of Vista and Office 2007 does not not meet its budget!! Microsoft
is still a business is required to satisfy its stockholders!!
Hi Robin,
MS generally releases "hotfixes" and other "required" updates on the first full
Tuesday of every month.
Making the next "Patch Tuesday", November 14th.

What exactly does "first full Tuesday of every month" mean? Updates
have always been on Second Tuesday of the month at 10 A.M. Pacific Time
