Sorry to disappoint, Robin, but last Tuesday was the 31st of October... I'm
sure you'll have more fun next week.

Dave,

I pretty sure she is kidding and knows that Patch Tuesday is next week.

"But what if ...?"

Personally I think MS should be fined if it exceeds 3 patches in a year per
product.
$1 per Megabyte downloaded, per user.

I think that would make them think twice about releasing products that are
not ready for primetime.

wait i thought patch Tuesday was the 2nd week of the month. Hmmm I guess
since the 1st fell on a Wed I am assuming it is next week then, oh well.

well if MS made a product with no holes, it would not be necessacary to
patch anything and I am betting Vista will have holes too.

No, it would not be a hoot, that would be *scary*. (In the spirit of
Haloween ...)

Holes in Vista? Most thouroghly tested product in the history of
mankind... Now I'm kidding.

Don't be silly. MS will find a way to charge you for patches by
releasing Second Editions and Third Editions of its products. Do you
remember Windows 98, and Windows 98 SE? Apparently, the second edition
was more stable!!

They could well release Windows XP with SP3 as Second Edition if the
sales of Vista and Office 2007 does not not meet its budget!! Microsoft
is still a business is required to satisfy its stockholders!!

Hi Robin,
MS generally releases "hotfixes" and other "required" updates on the first full
Tuesday of every month.
Making the next "Patch Tuesday", November 14th.
