Hello, I noticed you expllained to someone that she was in the wrong NG as
she needed help with Outlook Express.

I just opened a NG in my OE and I'm shocked that it's been downloaded into
my new NG over 100,000 NGs!!! So please kindly help me with these
Questions?:

(1) How can I find ONLY the microsoft.public for Internet Explorer and
Outlook Express both 6.0?

(2) How can I delete all those over 100,000 NGs that downloaded themselves?

I am still not sure how to use it. Thanks ever so much for any ideas to
simplify this! :o) Adela

P.S. I was content just going to the microsoft.public for Internt and OE,
but it wouldn't open for me to post although the "Reply" would open. So
tired of not finding a solution through google, etc. I just "hijacked" one
of the replies to ask them why I couldn't post. I was told to get rid of
the popup ad catcher in that yellow line across the Internet page. I did
that...but still couldn't post; hence, thought of installing it here. :D

When you use OE as news group reader, you can subscribe/unsubscribe the NGs
you want/do not want to browser/read.

To subscribe, you need to create an account to news servers:

1. Go to menu Tools->Accounts...
2. Select tab "News"; if there is item listed, then you already have an
account to a new server. You can have multiple account to different news
server (each news server hosts different NGs for different interests). If
there is no item listed, click "Add" button to add account to given news
server. For example, you want to read NGs on MS's news server, you add
"msnews.microsoft.com".
3. Once you get news server connected, you can choose which NGs you want to
subscribe by highlight the news server name in left side tree view and click
"Newsgroups..." button. Depending on the news server, there could be tens of
thousands of NGs listed (That just a NGs list for you to choose, not entire
NGs and their content being download to your computer, unless you choose to
subscribe all of them).
4. Browse through the list and double click one to subscribe/unsubscribe it.

Important: when you creating account with a news server, you are asked to
provide name and email address. You can use your real name or fake name, but
never use a real email address, or you will be bombard with tons of junk
emails.

HTH.
