How do you define what programs and processes are started
when your computer is turned on?

Hey Aaron,

How many processes do you have in task manger ?

The services.exe and all the svchost.exe processes are services which are
controlled through
start/run
services.msc

But its not a good idea to start stopping these unless you know what you are
doing.

Theres a number of system processes which you have no control over.

Some processes may start in the start/all programs/startup group

Some may get started by entries in the registry such as those listed under

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

You can have a look at what processes in task manger do at

.start, run, msconfig.
It will pop up what is going to start. You can disabe them
all if you want to, requires re-start. SOme you might not
want to disable, like firewall or anti-virus. I'm new to
puters, but I have figured this out.
Hope it helps.
