To IE8 or not to IE8?

Simple, two-part question: Why should I install IE8 on my Vista Ultimate
(x32), and why should I not install IE8?

I dont have time to explain, just one sentence:

Do install it, it's great, and if not - as usual there're settings that
people leave in wrong positions, so check out all settings/options, disable
rubbish addons, etc and it's reall fast!!
You MAY need to occasional enable "compatibility view" option for some older
sites who aren't aware of IE8 & therefore get somewhat corrupted (e.g.
YouTube videos take time to load), but as usual with new application,
everyone else is qucikly aligning to work with it, and NOT with old IE7.

I really like new IE8 search text within a webpage, too long to explain,
it's a blockbuster.

What I don't like is how MS promotes its Bing search engine versus Google,
but you can set to Google, it's just that Bing appeared first, i delete dit
and added Google instead

Sure, if you like bugs and incompatibility install it. (Not that IE7
is exactly bug free, but at least it didn't have the compatibility
issue.

Thanks! Personally, I think "security" is overhyped, and I look at people
from MS (or those who simply stick to the flypaper) as less than reliable
witnesses. Show me a few (better yet, a lot) cases of some such issue in the
wild, and you might have a start on making me think it's an issue to be
worried about.

Thanks again,

Security is overhyped? If someone is dumb enough to point and click,
that's the clueless masses, then it's game set and match.

I knew I'd get at least one of these. All opinion, with next to zero
information.

Google "IE8 compatibility", numb nuts. Or is that too hard for you to
figure out?

Thanks! Though I have to point out that you should *never* consider an
"uninstall" to be a total removal. In fact, I'd say that 99% of such
uninstall operations leave all kinds of crap behind, some of it is garbage,
some of it is left behind in hopes that the app will be reinstalled and that
the owner will want all this stuff saved. There are also botched uninstalls,
which result in all kinds of possible issues and making life interesting for
registry divers. My experience when uninstalling MS apps is that they fall
into the "all of the above" category, in spades.

Hello!

Of course "to IE8". BUT, there's one new important feature: IE8 is by default working
with at least two iexplore.exe processes. You can change this behaviour by setting
TabProcGrowth to 0 in registry:

For example, older versions of the Visual Studio Debugger get confused:

"If you run into the same problem on Vista or newer, you will also need to turn off protected mode."

BTW, IE7Pro also has problems with IE8:

So dipshit, you haven't had any problems with IE8 so it's good for the
world? Oops, you can't use your computer for anything important so it
really doesn't matter.

Surfing looking for Gay Republican Senators is just fine in IE8!
