Hi--

I've looked for the answer to this for a while and finally gave up looking
and will ask....

WinXP, Outlook Express 6.

I exported my OE 5 contacts as a .wab and imported them into OE 6.

They show up and work fine.

Here's the problem:

for any imported contact, if I double click the contact in the Contacts list
(in the lower left) to create a email, the To: is the display name of the
contact.

For only certain contacts I've added to the Contacts list (seems to be
linked to one's I either cut'n paste added OR right click - add sender to
address book) IF I double click their name in the Contacts list (it shows
the display name) I get the email address in the To:. (note, i've checked
and recheck and reinput the first and last name with proper display name a
million times for them and it's definately NOT their email address) OR it's
like the (e-mail address removed) always shows up as that and NOT their
Display name (I know it sounds wierd that it's attached to theirdomain.com
BUT if I just simply add a contact of (e-mail address removed) and 2x click
it, it shows as the email address NOT the display name) IF I add:
(e-mail address removed) and 2x click it I get the Display name.

How can I get the Display to appear in the To: for every email contact I
double click when I want to send them an email?

(I know this sounds crazy)

Thanks

This is a group to support Outlook from the Office group of programs.
Outlook Express is a part of Internet Explorer and is a quite different
program despite its similar name..

You will probably get a faster and more expert answer if you post this to an
outlook express news group.

Try posting in one of these newsgroups:
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie5.outlookexpress for OE 5.x
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie55.outlookexpress for OE 5.5x
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie6_outlookexpress for OE 6.x

A good website for information on OE is:
