There are a lot of questions that need to be answered:

1. What O/S are your clients running? If running Windows 2000, you won't
require a client access license.

2. Is your goal to allow more than 2 users at a time to terminal into the
server? If so, that requires application mode configuration and licensing.
You can license over the Internet and it won't cost you anything as long as
you don't need client access licenses (see #1).

3. Is the server a domain controller? If so, best practices usually
recommends avoiding running terminal services for clients on a domain
controller.

Thanks! to answer your questions:

1. there will be about 4 pc need to access the terminal server. they are
running in win2k, xp, and 98. i know that little crazy about the o/s.

2. my goal is to allow 3 or more connection simutanously connect to the
terminial server and using the same program.

3. yes this server is running a domain controller. why avoiding terminal
services on a domain controller?

please help this is urgent due to job request.

1. For your Windows 98 machines, you'll have to purchase a license to use
the terminal server in application mode. You can do this online or via
telephone by contact Microsoft.

2. 3 or more connections requires application mode. So configure your
server for application mode.

3. In general, the idea is to keep clients and users away from your most
critical servers. A domain controller is a critical server and allowing
local or terminal access to it is a security issue. You may or may not ever
have any security issues but best to avoid the problem and set up your
terminal server on a member server instead.

No special program needed. Just the free download of the Terminal Services
client.
