Check with Ulead. It isn't a Microsoft application.

OK Well it might not be a Microsoft Application problem but I didn't have the icon before the updates were applied. I've discovered what the problem was. My web cam was connected to a USB port and something in the updates caused the icon to appear! I've disconnected the webcam and the icon has gone. But thanks for the not very helpful reply.

Hi Brian
Sorry to keep this going but I didn't connect a "third party web cam". My
web cam was already connected, always has been since I installed it, (too
difficult to get at the USB port to keep plugging and unplugging it). My
point in posting the request for an answer "how to get rid of the icon", is
that I had done nothing to the PC and all that had happened is that the
updates had been automatically installed and the computer restarted.
Is WHITE Herring computerspeak for RED Herring?
Regards Alan

OKSA now we've established third party status, what would have caused the
icon to appear? If you have no solution let's finish this now as we seem to
be going around in circles
