When I go to type a new message in Outlook 2002:

1. In the "to box" I type the users name from my address book "John
Smith."
2. Upon hitting tab or enter, "John Smith" disappears.
3. I type the subject and the contents of the message and hit "send."
4. The message DOES send. When I go to the "sent" folder I can see
the message with the "to" column blank. When I open the sent message
the "to box" on the message is also blank. When I double click on the
blank spot in the to box, the contact screen comes up for "John
Smith."

Why would it blank out or make invisible the email addresses? It does
this even if I use my address book and double click on "John Smith" in
the address book.

Do you have the latest service pack for Office XP installed?
