This is addressed to everyone who seems determined to turn this into a
general Hardware discussion group.

This is the comp.periphs.printers newsgroup.. NOT about LG, NOT about
some java technology.. NOT about new CPU technology..

If you want to discuss your latest gripe about monitors, CPU's, etc...
then please find a more appropriate forum, newsgroup or other place to
do so...

Once again this newsgroup is about printers.. PRINTERS, paper, ink,
etc.. NOT anything else..

Thankyou.

Do you really think the people who need to be told this will both read
your post and actually follow your pronouncement?

Why not rant about those who keep replying to one poster, or talk
incessantly about him?

And, say, what recommendation do you have for a digital camera that
costs under $400 and can take 8 MP's in low light, without.......

Anyone know for sure when the new VISTA operating system will be available?
I'm thinking of getting a new computer, probably an LG, but want to wait to
get the new system instead of upgrading.

I really think that even Bill Gates isn't quite sure.
You could upgrade and get a new system at the same time by getting a
Macintosh, tho!

Officially, the consumer versions will be out in January of 2007. There
will be a number of versions for different types of machines with
differing hardware which will allow for differing features.

Most modern machines being sold today will run some higher end version
if Vista.

Who cares? When you consider that Macafee has just announced counting
over 200,000 pieces of malware for Windows, doubling in less than two
years, and that Vista probably won't really address more than half of
those problems successfully, you're better off with a Mac or Linux,
anyway. Only one mildly successful Mac virus "in the wild," and barely a
handful for Linux.

Yes, market failure has it's advantages ;-)
