Having taken several thousand digital photographs and added Titles and
Subjects on each using my Laptop running Windows 2000, I have now
started using a new Laptop running Windows XP Professional. After
copying my pictures over, I am unable to see any of the Titles or
Subjects on any of the JPG files.
However if I share the new disk and then access it over the network
from my old Laptop, I can still see the missing data.
How can I view my titles, and then sort and select, within Explorer on
Windows XP?

Since "Titles and Subjects" of data files located ON your Win XP is visible
FROM your Win 2K computer, the imbedded data is intact. Your Win XP computer
can not view the imbedded "Titles and Subjects" without the software that
was used to imbed the data.
Find the software that you used to create the "Titles and Subjects" on your
Win 2K computer, and install that same software on your Win XP computer.

Unfortunately, the software that I used to add Titles and Subjects was
Explorer under Windows 2000 Server. The equivalent Explorer under
Windows XP Professional is what is giving me my problem.

Have you checked under View settings for either Thumbnails or Tiles?
Unless I misunderstand your question.

You are talking about working within Windows Explorer?
I gather that you Right-Clicked on the file, selected Properties, then
edited the File Properties via the "Custom" tab or the "Summary" tab?
