I believe this has been answered before but cannot locate. (probably Echo)

On a Title & Text Layout slide I manually reduced the font size so all text
would fit. I saved the file but when re-opening it reverted back to the
large size. The auto correct options are all turned off.

THX! Echo. I believe it was a master issue. The file had over 46 masters
with basically only 2 controlling the slides. They must have copied in
slides from a bunch of presentataion decks along with a lot of pasted Word
text. Which turns it into a mess! Deleted all masters not needed and this
seemed to solve the problem.

regards,
Fritz.

I think you've run into a bug, Fritz. The info at this link offers some
workarounds:

Text size or other formatting is lost when you save, close, and reopen a
presentation

Glad to hear you got it resolved, Fritz.

You know, when you open a 2007 file in 2003, you get a master for each
layout in the 2007 file. Since each master in 2007 comes with something like
9 layouts, they can add up fast! Wonder if that's maybe what happened?
