Title template

I am trying to make a basic template in Power Point 2000,
but I don't seem to be able to edit the title template,
only the Slides template (View - Templates).
Am I doing something wrong here? The Title template is
unavailable (gray) exept when I have opened a template
which came with PP.
 
Go to View > Master > Slide Master. Then go to Insert > New Title Master.
Not very intuitive, but not all templates have a Title Master, and to insert
one you must be in Master view.
