Title Placeholder Design

I would like to make the Title placeholder on the Title slide layout look
like there is a hole in the slide showing the slide below. This would be to
imitate how many book covers are done. The color of the slide could be the
same as the phony slide underneath, or it could be different.

This is easier than you may have thought.

1) Create your slides background and place it as the slide's background
2) Create a large rectangle that completely covers the slide. This will be
the cover page and will hide all of the slide's background.
3) Insert a circle and use background fill. Format => Autoshape => Fill =>
Background

The circle will show what is on the slide's background as though there was a
hole in the cover page. Post back if you need additional assistance in
setting this up.
