Hi All,

I installed Microsoft Antispyware in a regular way on a
regular Windows XP platform and every single window
that the application shows is tiny with only 5% or so of
the graphics showing. All links and buttons are not
visible at all.
When I click on the icon in the taskbar it brings up main
antispyware window which an 1 x 1.5 inches big. That's all

Same thing happens with popups. They are 1 x 1.5 inches
big with no useful information just beginnings of
sentences and no buttons.

Here's what I can see on the popup:

Microsoft Antispy
An Unkno
Attemtin

That about it. As you can see there is not way of knowing
what this popup is trying to tell me.

This doesn't seem like a "Flying Popup" bug that people
talked about earlier but something different;
My taskbar is in the regular spot at the bootrom of the
screen

Any suggestions?

What are your current monitor settings - resolution, theme, adapter refresh
rate, display dpi setting, font size in the appearance tab, and actual fonts
being used?

I'd look at your font size setting and change it to the default of 96dpi??
Non-standard font settings seem to be a problem with this beta, as well as
non-standard date formats.

It was set at 96dpi.
After I re-selected the font size
popups showed up but, instead of being regular size, they
are now approximately 80% bigger than regular.
At least I can read what they say now.

Thanks for your help

Nick

1600x1200, Windows XP (Modified), 60 Hz, 96 dpi, Normal
Font size,
standard fonts unchanged:
Message Box - Tahoma 8,
Tooltip - Tahoma 8,
Active Title Bar - Trebuchet MS 8

Just for information, try your resolution at 1024x768 and 1280x1024 just to
see what happens and let us know.

Thanks!

That was the first thing I tried 1280x1024, but popups
were still tiny and corrupted.

Re-selecting 96dpi from font tab fixed the problem
somewhat. Full size popups now show up . There are
regular size inside a bigger white box so I at least can
read what the popup is asking about. White box is appr.
80% bigger that the popup graphics.

Interesting. I'm not sure from your description whether they are bigger
than what I see or not--or are you comparing to what you see on other
machines?

Well - I'm glad fiddling in that area got you some relief anyway.

Any updates to your video driver available from the vendor? A couple of
folks have found some improvement in some oddball symptoms via that route.
