Hi,
As header says, Any ideas as to the reason for this?
I am running xp pro and have an older Intel usb camera that does not have
Intel supported drivers but it works ok with xp.
I have tried loading eyeball.chat so as to contact family but keep getting
"system error timed out" although the preview video works fine. I have a dsl
connection through a router and have opened ports as advised and even turned
off the inbuilt firewall in the router but still get no joy. I also did a
registry patch supplied by eyeball but zilch.
Is there something I am missing or that I should be looking for? Any advice
appreciated. tia.
Stuart.

Hi Stuart,

Are you sure there are no updated drivers for your camera? I had a problem
very similar to what you describe when using my Intel CS330 camera under XP
with the MS drivers - I found updated (albeit unsupported) XP drivers at:
http://support.intel.com/support/createshare/camerapack/windows2000_windowsxp_info.htm

...and now it works correctly.

Hope this helps..

Hi David,
Thanks for getting back.
I fear the worst in respect to this old (3yrs) web cam as the drivers are
not available for use with xp!
Its the yc72 model and it shows "NO - The Upgrade CD is not compatible with
these camera models. No driver or software upgrades are available through
Intel." :((
I think I will have to try a new cam - -any views as to a good replacement
:) tia.
Stuart.

Setup a guard against theft and alarm system using web cam.

Description: It uses your computer and web cam to setup a guard
against theft and alarm system. When the thief is found by it, it will
alarm and notice the host by many ways, such as telephone, email.
