Hi All

Just wondering if there is such a program that wold enable me to issue a
document, and then after a given period of time lock this document or
password it so the recipients could no longer access it.

Is this reality or just wishful thinking

All replies gratefully received

Most likely wishful thinking. Locking a program that way is simple -
locking a document that way isn't.

This post is kind of hand waving brain storming, but here it goes:

I think there are some newsgroup systems that allow expiration of
messages if requested. Perhaps this is even true of Google Groups, but
I don't know how to enact it.

I suppose there are PHP bulletin board type systems too or blog systems
which could be set up or or ones you could buy into or participate for
free that have this feature already. You could then direct the users to
the entries posted there by you or your clients.

Also doesn't HTML and/or Javascript have tags that allow content
expiration. Also with at least some javascript command, can't you
prevent a user from looking at the source code of a page?

Aha! One thing that will work is an E-Book. Here is freeware that
will give you "expiry" dates:
http://www.visualvision.com/software/ebookswriter_e.html

Unfortunately the size limit is 1 MB, but I'm looking some more for
other solutions. The expiration feature generally seems to be reserved
for the non-lite versions of a company's E-Book compiler software, but
maybe there is an open source solution.

Even better, no limitations looks awesome:
