When clicking Help > Diagnostics, amongst other
information I get the following:

Session.TimeBombDaysRemaining: 47
Session.TimeBombExpirationDate: 31/07/2005

Am I to assume the product will cease to work on July
31st or that I have to pay to continue using it.

Anyone know?

The only information I have seen is on Paul Thurrot's
supersite under:

"Licensing and pricing

In February 2005, Microsoft announced that it would provide
Windows AntiSpyware to consumers for free when the final
version is release. However, unlike Giant AntiSpyware,
Windows AntiSpyware will only be made available to Windows
XP SP2 users as one of the benefits of using that platform.
A managed corporate version, first revealed in this
preview, will be made available later, but will not be
free. Instead, the corporate version of Windows AntiSpyware
will be licensed on a subscription basis. Microsoft has not
revealed the timing for the final release."

There was another info provided here, on MS newsgroups, by Steve Dodson from
Microsoft - before the expiration date there will be update for MSAS, fixing
some problems and delaying the timebomb date.

I'd like to know the answer as well. I love the new Beta
Microsoft Spyware. The recommendation came from a
friend's son who is completely puter saavy. He downloaded
the program & it found something on his computer that he
just could not have! So, word of mouth has travelled. It
seems as though Microsoft hasn't made the decision as to
whether or not they will continue with this product.
Surely with July 31 fast approaching somebody in the
company must know something. They've have a lot of
positive feedback. Anybody know anything more???
