I'm trying to use excel as a paycheck calculator. So far, I have star
time, finish time, finish - start time to calculate hours, but I can'
seem to multiply a time and a dollar value. Can someone please help m
with this

If you've got the hours an hourly rate then simply multiply the two (I
think I'm missing something here!) viz;

If hours in (say) E2 and rate in E3 and you want the gross in E4 then
put =E2*E3 in cell E4.

Since hours in excel are 1/24 of a day and a day in excel is 1 it means that
the pay will be
23/24 short. So to get the pay multiply time with 24, i.e.

=time*24*rate

=E2*24*E3

format as currency or you'll probably end up with a weird date as result

Peo;
That's probably what I was missing!
I read his post as him having the hours vs. having a problem with the
hours.

Thought it was too simple<G>.
