I was interested to know if anyone knows whether or not
there is a time limit to remote desktop. I have an
employee who uses this from 8am to 1pm and loses
connection every 30 minutes (almost to the second). All I
have to do is have her connect again, but it can cause
problems. I know it is not her VPN client as these
configurations are set for 8 hour sessions. Any help
would be greatly appreciated.

There some Group Policies that you can configure to disconnect idle sessions. Go to "Start -> Run"
and type gpedit.msc at the command line. Navigate to the "Local Computer Policy -> Computer
Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> Windows Components -> Terminal Services -> Sessions".
Do this on the RDP host.
