I have a Windows 2000 server machine setup as a domain
controller. Whenever I set the time to a paricular time
(Mountain Time)using the date and time properties. I have
tried to run the "net time" command also. Is there a time
server that I can use to synchronize to Mountain Time?It
keeps reseting to a 30 minute difference from the current
time that I set it to. It is a Dell Power Edge 2600
server.Do I need to change some settings in the BIOS? Any
help or pointers in the right direction would be greatly
appreciated.
Lakshman.

net time /setsntp:192.5.41.209

or any other ntp source of your choosing
(192.5.41.209 = ntp2.usno.navy.mil)
more found at http://www.boulder.nist.gov/timefreq/service/time-servers.html

The GMT offset does not come from the time server. It is setup locally on
the machine. You can navigate to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\TimeZoneInformation
and verify that the Reg_Sz string
"StandardName"="Mountain Standard Time"
and verify that the Reg_Sz string
"DaylightName"="Mountain Daylight Time" (assuming you checked the box for
"Automatically adjust clock for daylights savings changes"
