Time on title bar of open window

Have taken to autohiding the task bar in order to maximise viewing on the
monitor screen but this means that I lose sight of the clock unless I bring
the mouse down. I seem to remember a programme that allowed for the
continual showing of time and date on the title bar of any open window but
despite much Google searching I've found nothing. Can anyone help or is my
memory even worse than I know it to be?
With thanks,
Bill

Your memory is excellent: search for "TitleTime". (Top google hit.)

Thanks for the reply Harvey - the site seems to be down at the moment but I
will try again tomorrow. Reassuring to know that all the brain cells haven't
died off. Appreciate your speedy response.
Bill.

Karen, that's exactly the one I thought I remembered and I realise now that
I must have read about it in Lockergnome. Thanks for so very much for your
help.

You're quite welcome. It was actually a strange coincidence. I'd been
sorting through my downloads folder and was looking TBC over just an
hour before seeing your post.

. . . .

You know, back in win3x days, there used to be so many good add-ons that
used the titlebar. [1]

Now it seems everything is tray-fixated, with the titlebar area forgotten
and abandoned. I've seen a few exceptions; but overall, rare, unfortunately.
Would wish to see more...

New question. How about this. A countdown timer that uses the title bar.
I spent a lot of hours on that quest, and came out dry.

Never seen one; sounds a good idea, though.

Like you said in your other post -- apps overload the taskbar and tray
with *so* much stuff, that removing anything you can to the title bar
makes all sorts of sense.

(I also liked the add-in feature in TitleTime that puts a date-or-time-
or-both readout on the desktop: very useful if you've removed the
taskbar clock and don't have a window open.)

Yes, I used to like those. Titlebars and toolbars waste a lot of
space now, but I'm usually too lazy to do a lot of rearranging in
every application. I even saw someone with a skin that added
information to the scrollbar. And then a few applications floating
around the web that float the time on the screen near the mouse cursor
(see below). I don't have the CPU cycles for that even if it weren't
distracting. Transparency might make it visually acceptable though.

Now I just have to work on filling in the useless area under the Start
button. I usually autohide a 3 high task bar/tray. A perfect
location for day/date and time or a micro-calendar.

As for a clock, I found a little round LED digital clock that runs for
years on a watch battery at a $1 type store (pkg of 3?). It makes use
of my otherwise useless (except for postits that eventually fall off)
monitor bezel.

(Donning hardhat and flamesuite for daring to suggest spending money,
even in passing.)

A quick search found these cursor clocks.

This page shows the javascript used to create the cursor you will have
while on this page -- full date circling an analog clock as a mouse
trail. I didn't see a license but I didn't look very hard since this
is obviously intended to be copied.
