Time of Auto Update

I'm on Central European Time, GMT+1. My computer's clock
is displaying the correct time, correct time zone, etc...
My definitions were just updated, at 4PM to be precise.
I've set MS AS to check daily at 5 PM.

So why does MS AS check for updates an hour earlier than
I told it to check for updates?
 
Auto Updates has not been balanced or thought out yet, you can get them at
ad-hoc hours.

Both scheduling functions in the product appear to have a number of
"issues."
