Time format

How do I get the cell to calculate timesheets so that I know the total time
worked in a day with answer being in decimals?

example: working 6 hours 30 minutes will be 6.50, 6 hours 10 minutes is 6.17

Hi
if your time is stored in the format
06:30
use the formula
=A1*24
and format this resulting cell as decimal
