Time Calculation to showing negative value?

I am attempting to create a a spreadsheet to calculate
Budgeted Hours - Actual Hours to show the remaining hours
on jobs.
I have formatted the cells as [hh]:mm and I'm using the
formula =SUM(A1-B1)this works correctly though problems
occur when B1 is greated than A1 as the result shows

Is there any way to make this calculation so that the
result will show the time as a negative value?
