i don't understand this; when i run "disk clean up", it cleans all tifs,
allegedly. i say allegedly as i then run ccleaner, immediately after, & it
shows a lot more tifs - what am i missing here, other than the obvious ?!

thanks & hope you're all enjoying your weekends.

You should not abbreviate - which means I am assuming you are (another bad
idea - but...)

In your posting... "tifs" I assume is referring to "Temporary Internet
Files" and not "Tagged Image File" (also "Tagged Image File Format" or
TIF/TIFF images.)

If I am correct...
http://www.google.com/search?q=disk...ternet+Files"+in+Windows+XP+doesn't+clean+all

Not new. Never has, doubt it ever will. Reasons have been thrown about for
a long time.

Did you first close all instances of Internet Explorer?

In Win-Explorer, navigate to
%userProfile%\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\

Do you see those tifs in any of the sub-folders?

In Control Panel > Internet Options > TIF [Delete Files...]
Does Ccleaner now show any tifs?
Refresh Win-Explorer. Do you still see any tifs?

thanks very much shenan & yes, temp int files - i don't even know what a
tagged image file is, tho' you didn't know this. i'll take a look at the
link - thanks again

alpha, thanks & no, i don't believe i did close the ie windows. - i'll check
into this & get back to you - many thanks
