TIF photos in WMC 2005

If my photos are in jepg format they appear in the
folders in WMC. However; if the photos are in tif format, the photos do not
appear,
says the folders are empty. Someone please help me!! I only have this
problem in WMC. All my photos appear in "My Pictures" Folder in Windows.
