Does XP's Scanner & Camera Wizard create TIF files that
are LZW compressed? If so then I cannot use the new Roxio
Media Creator 7 software I just installed to view and
manage hundreds of archive photos I scanned to my hard
drive preparatory to burning to optical media for safe-
keeping. Would appreciate an answer from anyone who may
know. Thanx!

I wouldn't have thought so; there are some thorny license issues with LZW.
If you've got Photoshop or something you can check whether they're
compressed or not (or just do the maths). Photoshop can also do a batch
conversion of files, so you can decompress the images as a big batch process
(rather than saving them individually). If you don't have PS and you need to
do this, there are lots of free image viewers - IrfanView comes to mind.
Some of the free ones are bound to do batch conversions.

Let me know if you need more detailed instructions.

Steve
