Hi Frank
Tx Jan......Is this just a problem with certain versions of the OS and
IE??
The reason I ask is because on my home computer, running XP/SP1 and an
older
IE, it launches Quicktime.............and a colleague of mine, who has XP
V2000 SP2 with IE 6.0.2900.2180, but a later patch of IE, it launches MS
Document Imaging application??
Not sure on this, but, it may be that they have these programs set as their
image viewers. You can try to associate an image program you have installed
with the TIF file by going to Windows Explorer )not IE), finding one of the
TIF files on your hard drive, right click on it and select Open with, then
select a program in the list, if any, to open the file with. If none is
there, then go to Tools on the toolbar>Folder Options>File Type and select
an image program you want the TIF to be opened in and then click Change and
ok out.
But, this will not make the TIF be displayed in IE. You can also try the
viewer that I posted, or one similar, to view them in IE6. The TIF should
be supported in IE7, as well as the PNG graphics, which are also not
supported in IE6. If it is any consolation, I can't view them in IE6
either. Booo! <vbg>
Hope this helps.

Hi Frank
The image rendering function in IE is limited. It doesn't support TIF,
TIFF
format currently, and also for CYMK JPEG format.
You will need a 3rd party viewer to view TIFF files in IE. You can
download
the TIFF Viewer - Freeware
http://www.alternatiff.com/ [freeware]
A browser plug-in for viewing TIFF image files.
also.....
Cannot Open a Tagged Information File Format (TIFF) File in Internet

Hi. I'm running XP V2000 SP2 with IE 6.0.2900.2180 and when trying to
display a Tif file from within a browser application, all I get is an
icon
in
top left corner (its a very small rectangle with a red square, green
circle,
and blue pyramid in it). There is no error message or any other
message
If I save the file to my local computer, then I can open with choosen
application.
