Fellow programmers, survivors of H1B and Outsourcing,
please try to give me an estimate of how long it would
take to migrate an average size Access 97 MDB file to
version 2000. I need to give enough time for testing etc.
Monday I start, and there will later be dozens more to
migrate. Just need a 'ballpark' for each on average.
Thanks guys.

Depends on what's in the database, Mike. For example, a database with no
VBA code would take about a minute and a half. A database using external
ActiveX controls, Automation, connections to Client-Server databases, etc.,
could take anywhere from an hour or two to days - depending on the
complexity of the database.

As to testing, only you or someone familiar with what each database is
supposed to do could provide that information.

somewhat echoing Cheryl's comment, but I recently converted a 2.0 database
to 2000 in 5 minutes, including editing 2 lines of code. The more code
there is, the longer it may take.
