I've got an HP pavillion 864n. DVD burner is drive E. CD rom is drive
F. Tiberian Sun doesn't recognize the F drive. I'd rather not play
games from the burner. How can I swap the drive letters without
screwing up the rest of the apps on my system that expect them to be
where they are? Thanks in advance.

As far as I know the on;y way to change the drive letters
is to do it for all app's
The good news is, when you are required to have the disk
in to play a game (many games dont require it) your DVD
drive will only be giving a code to the game verifying
that you do in fact have the disk. The game itself runs
from your hard drive. You will see the light on, but it
really does no harm to the drive. Actually, using the
drive for burning is not going to damage it.
I wonder, do you download free music from the internet?
Kazzaa, Morpheus etc? Many many many songs now include an
undetectable trojan horse (not really a virus) but a
command that plays havoc on your drives, and can cause CD
and DVD drives to dissapear. I had to reformat all 6 of
my home PC's after we got it....
Anyway, hope I helped.
