For those who have found that the autoupdate function in Firefox works quite
well, I'll mention that on the two machines I've tried so far this evening,
AutoUpdate has failed with a malformed XML file message. Updating manually
by simply downloading the full version and installing, worked fine.

i.e. I am finding that Thunderbird's autoupdate mechanism is not working
well, for me, now.
