I made a photo album of photographs taken at the marriage of my friend
with the help of Arcsoft Photo base. The main photographs have been
since returned to the owner some two years back.

I was using a free webspace from tripod. Without informing me, they
deleted my albums of there own as I had exceeded the free limit they had
provided for the users. Anyway?

I reconstructed the album and in the process, for some snaps I have only
thumbnails like sm_(name).jpg available with me now , and no originals
are available.

Now my problem is to revert back to the original snap from the
thumbnail. When I try to resize the sm_(name).jpg I get totally a
blurred picture. Is there a way out to change it back to the picture
from what the sm_(name).jpg got made?

Sadly...the answer is no.

Maybe your friend still has the originals.

Another thought...

Considering the length of time since you had the originals
on your hard drive...it would take a miracle to find them,
but since they are very important to you...software of the
following type may be worth a try:

Restorer 2000

Thanks for the guidance.
The Restorer2000 will also not help me as the scanned photographs were
on my old pc with win98se. That pc got messed up/destroyed with the
lightning thunder two years back and then my ignorance further
compounded the misery by my fiddling to recover the data from my old HD.
Anyway I shall try to get the originals now.
Thanks again for the guidance.

You're welcome.

I'm thinking the originals are your only solution.

Good luck.
