Thumbnail Icons

I recently down loaded a few Icons from off the Web to
personalize some of my thumbnails on various documents.
The last couple of ones I tried attached themselves to
every free Thumbnail on my computer and took over some
existing ones. Has anyone had this problem and knows how to
fix it from happening again, I sure would appreciate your
input.

You made the mistake by trying to replace thumbnails of
Click to expand...
existing files/photos with other graphics/icons. That is
a "No No". A thumbnail is a miniaturized version of the
actual graphic (compressed) format. If you try to change
it you'll screw up your entire system. An Icon is a
shortcut or graphic display to a program, not a photo or
a file. You'll probably have to reinstall/reload all the
corrupted files to delete the icons.
