Thumbnail Archive for cd Collection?

Hello,

Here is the deal, I have five cds full of pictures from 2003 I am making a
set for all of my family members. Due to the fact that there is over 5000
pictures between the five cds i would like to make another cd containing
thumbnails. How do i do this with out using a program like thumbs plus
because i dont want to pay for any program. I know there has to be a script
or something that i can use. thanks for the help.
